2025 is going to be an absolute epic year for Bollywood fans! The film slate is packed with
sequels to fan-favourites, star-studded action thrillers, and serious dramas. There is a buzz for
everything; either it was a comeback or newbies! The frenzy for Bollywood movie releases is at
an all-time high, and these films represent the largest scale of ambition for Hindi films. There was
a time when licensing/talents were restricted to regional films, and they entered into the dubbing
world. Now you have big stars working across industries, and additional words to borrow
from/collaborate, and directors are going all-out with their visual storytelling. There’s so much
anticipation for the forthcoming films that are being made, and here’s a list of the top 10
Bollywood movies of 2025, are eager to watch.
War 2
The high-octane spy thriller franchise is back with an even larger spectacle. War 2 is likely the
most awaited movie of the year. The film brings back Hrithik Roshan as the suave and powerful
Kabir, but he’ll be facing a whole new and powerful opposition as well, in South Indian superstar
Jr NTR (who fans have been obsessing over). An official collaboration between these two gods
was apparently enough to set fans ablaze. The film is sure to be a globe-trotting, action-packed
escape, with death-defying stunts, and an espionage narrative with international stakes. Director
Ayan Mukerji is a box office powerhouse, known for beautiful visuals, so no doubt this will be a
visual feast. Kiara Advani is in the film too, which only adds to the star ensemble. Waiting for the
clash of these two superstars on the big screen is a historic moment that cinephiles across the
country have been eagerly anticipating. It is part of the YRF Spy Universe and will only raise the
bar higher.
Sikandar
Salman Khan is back in signature action mode, and Sikandar is a big deal. And it is an even
bigger deal because it is slated for Eid 2025, which is the one week a year that is commonly
known for a Salman Khan film. Sikandar is directed by AR Murugadoss, an accomplished
director in the high-octane thriller action genre, so it will be a full-action film. Ultimately, the story
revolves around a man named Sikandar, who after facing a monumental tragedy, feels
compelled to help three individuals which causes him to cross paths with a corrupt politician.
The film has a very good cast, and hopefully, we get some vintage Salman Khan style heroism
and action, but it is already a sizable talking point. Any film from a filmmaker with such stature,
and a superstar with an intense following like Salman Khan creates something of a guarantee
for a blockbuster.
Alpha
This film represents a watershed moment for YRF Spy Universe. Alpha is the franchise’s first
female-led spy film. Alia Bhatt, the most versatile actress in the industry, leads this film as a
super-agent. She will be joined by Sharvari Wagh, together becoming a powerful team of female
spies. The film promises exhilarating action scenes and a story driven by a thrilling narrative that
will take the spy universe in another direction. The inclusion of a female-led story comes with
supreme relief, being that the historical narratives have been male-dominated. Directed by Shiv
Rawail, the movie will be launched during the biggest slot for the Christmas time of year. Fans
are intrigued to see how this film would connect the previous films of the YRF Spy Universe.
The film’s post-credits scene leaked online, where Bobby Deol was introducing a young girl,
presumably a younger Alia Bhatt, into the spy universe.
Sitaare Zameen Par
When Aamir Khan returns to the cinema, it is always a big deal. Sitaare Zameen Par is an
emotional and sincere drama that a lot of people are saying is a spiritual sequel to Khan’s
classic movie, Taare Zameen Par. In Sitaare Zameen Par, Khan plays a coach who once upon a
time was once a promising basketball coach but is now disillusioned. Fate has strange ways
and as part of community service he is delegated to coach an intellectually challenged
basketball team. The film is an official remake of a Spanish film but should have the same
socio-political message as Aamir Khan’s previous movies. The film is mainly about the personal
development of the coach and how he comes to connect with the characters he coaches. It is a
story centered around personal growth promising meaning and a change of perspective. This
film will be worth the watch due to the originality of the story and big promise of another
emotional resonant performance by Aamir Khan.
Chhaava
Vicky Kaushal, known for his impactful and gritty performances as an actor, steps into a world
grand historical character in Chhaava. This epic historical action film is based on the life of
Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, son of the historical figure Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.
Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj lifted the neglected Maratha Empire after his father’s death and
continued his father’s fight against the Mughals. This big-budget film will take audiences on a
journey showcasing historical battle scenes and will elaborate the deep roots of the Maratha
Empire history. Vicky Kaushal’s commitment to his craft and his powerful presence on screen
makes him an ideal actor for conveying this character. Victoria Kaushal’s Chhaava, directed by
Laxman Utekar would be an adaptation of Marathi novel Chhava written by Shivaji Sawant. This
cinematic outcome is destined to be monumental in its appearance of itself as an immense part
of Indian history, once again.
Jolly LLB 3
The popular legal comedy series is back with a sequel, Jolly LLB 3! What makes this exciting is
that the lead actors in both previous films, Arshad Warsi and Akshay Kumar, are now officially
going head-to-head for the first time!. The plot is likely to be a funny but touching courtroom
confrontation, with both actors playing the loveable lawyers they’ve portrayed in the previous
installments. Subhash Kapoor returns as director, bringing with him a style marked by sharp
humor and social context. The mix of Arshad Warsi’s humour and the star-power of Akshay
Kumar suggests that this film should be an event not to be missed. It is sure to be a laugh riot
with a layer underneath.
Housefull 5
If you’re a fan of straight-up comedy, you should check out Housefull 5. This is the fifth film in
the slapstick comedy franchise, and it’s going to be huge. It has an all-star cast, including
Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, and Abhishek Bachchan. The franchise is known for its
“crazy and stupid” humor, and this film promises to take that to a whole new level. This movie

illegal actions behind a façade of being a good guy. It is set seven years after Raid, inspired by
real-life income-tax raids and promises to be ferociously intense and a tantalizing game of
cat-and-mouse chase. Ajay Devgn’s solid presence combined with the compelling narrative
makes this thriller even more exciting. It also stars Riteish Deshmukh and Vaani Kapoor in
essential roles.
Deva
Shahid Kapoor, typically known for his high emotional and dramatic roles, is set to become part
of the action thriller, Deva. Directed by Rosshan Andrrews, the film has been in the news for its
dark and serious tone, and audiences are gearing up for a new and different role for Shahid,
which has allowed for plenty of conversation amongst the fanbase. The story is based on the
tawdry 2013 Malayalam film Mumbai Police. It looks at a violent cop who suffers from partial
memory loss due to an accident, which requires him to re-investigate a murder case he had
previously solved. With thrilling stories, excitement, and urgency, Deva is certainly one of the
films to look forward to in 2023.
De De Pyaar De 2
De De Pyaar De 2, will be a favorable sequel for rom-com fans. The first one unexpectedly hit
and was one of the most praised on how it approached romance and relationships as modern
and funny. The sequel still has Ajay Devgn, Rakul Preet Singh, and R. Madhavan with the same
premise about a relationship’s miscues and misunderstandings. Anshul Sharma’s direction
believes that a relationship or a couple with a significant difference in age still managed to
pinpoint relatable relationship issues with a very creative twist of approach to the story, pattern
the same and evolved of the group of actors, yet added in additional commentary with this
light-hearted theme, lovers will agree – making it a must see if they loved so much of the first
film. Fairly rare in cinema so they can have fun with the whole family on the newly generated
collective conscious cinema, where De De Pyaar De 2 is expected and due for fantastic box
office success this November.
