Must Do Things Before Playing with Colors in Holi

New Delhi, March 10, 2020: The festival of colors, enthusiasm and happiness is at our doorstep. Indians are all set to celebrate Holi on Tuesday. The vibrant colors of this festival fade away the blackness of hearts. Besides, they strengthen the human bonds. All these are the religious and therapeutic effects of the great Indian festival. On the contrary, the chemical present in these colors can turn out harsh on our skin and hair. They can certainly cause a few long lasting ailments. While playing Holi, if only general precautions are taken, many of these problems can be avoided. Therefore, before playing with colors you need to take these measures. They will keep you safe from harmful effects of colors and would not let them spoil your celebration.

Prepare a day before

A day before Holi, apply mustard oil on body. Put it especially, on the face, hands and legs. This will dilute the effect of color on your skin. As a result, color can be removed from the skin easily. In addition to that, apply oil onto your hair as well. By this, you can protect your hairs from damage caused by colors.

These can be useful

Those who don’t prefer to apply mustard oil can go for these. Olive oil, body lotion and coconut oil can also do the job well. The greasiness of these products will not let the colors settle in your skin.

Hair care

There is no way to prevent your hair from getting colored in the festivities. So, shampoo and condition them well on the day of festival. Afterwards massage your hair well with oil and tie them up in a bun. This will ensure that the scalp and hair do not absorb colors too easily. In case you have short hair, apply hair gel.

Don’t forget to apply Sunscreen

Holi festivities continue for couple of hours. Hence playing colors under sun can surely have damaging effect on your skin. It is better to apply a sunscreen lotion in such situation.  In one hand it will save you from tanning, on the other it will not not let chemical based colors cause damage to your skin.

Take care of nails

Playing with colors can leave your nails and edges dirty for weeks. In order to avoid this drench your cuticles in olive oil. The exercise won’t allow your nails to soak up any color. Then, use a thick coat of nail paint on the nails and put Vaseline under the nail edges.

Keep yourself hydrated55

In order to enjoy the spirit of Holi  is to take good care of yourself. This has to be done not only from outside but also from inside. Drink as much as water you can. Proper hydration will keep your energy levels high on the day of festival.
