Horrible play from England continued as the 4th test between them and the hosts begins on Thursday. Indian left arm spinner Axar Patel is continuing his dream run in 4th test as well.
Patel struck twice in the first session on the first day of the test. It seems like England players have not yet recovered from the massive loss they faced in last two tests.
Both the England openers fell to Axar patel. Dominic Sibley, right hand batsman, got bowled in the very first over of Axar Patel. Zack Crawley, another England’s opening batsman doesn’t last long. He was trying to put Axar patel under pressure by coming down the track. Crawley doesn’t found timing and got caught by Siraj.
English skipper Joe Root also got out in the first session as well. Root is the batsman who have scored maximum run in this series but after double century in the first test he seems to have lost his track. Root was given out LBW on the bowling on fast bowler Mohammad Siraj.
England are on backfoot after loosing three wickets:-
Earlier England’s captain Joe Root won the toss and elected to bat first. England made two changes in their side. Jofra Archer and Stuart Broad has been replaced by Daniel Lawrence and Domm Bess. England going into this test match with only three genuine bowlers.
Talking about India, they made only one change in their side which was expected. Jasprit Bumrah has given leave for his marriage and in place of him Mohammad Siraj got back in the team.
England lossed their first three wickets in the first hour of the test match. England’s batsman are playing for turn and there is no turn in the pitch. That’s the reason why they are founding themselves in deep trouble. Indian bowlers are all over on English batsman. Ben stokes and Johnny Bairstow are on the crease. At the end of the first session England have scored 74 runs and lossed 3 important wickets.
Next session is very important for England. They were thinking of not loosing any more wickets. On the other hand Indian bowlers will try to put them under pressure by getting 2-3 more wickets. As of now the series stands in favour of India. India is leading the series 2-1.
Road to World test championship finals:-
This last test match is important because this will decide who will face New Zealand in the world test championship final at Lords. If England wins this test match then it will be Australia who will qualify for the finals. And if India wins the match or the match ended in draw then India will qualify for the finals.
