In an surprising move made by the RELIANCE JIO they have now made a new (jio recharge plan 2019) announcement regarding phone calls. Now the customers will be charged with 6 paisa per minute for voice calls made to the other subscribers of other Telecomm companies.

As per the analysts this a outcome of rivalry with the Bharti AIRTEL and Vodafone, Idea. Speculations are that it will give rise to tariff rise in Telecomm sector.
In the speech by Mukesh Ambani the head supreme of JIO Telecomm this move is temporary and will end as soon as the interconnect usage charge ( IUC) comes to zero. He also said in his speech that to compensate this chargeable move the JIO users will get additional data in order to ensure no “ effective increase” in the tariffs for its customers. Whereas the calls made from JIO to JIO, to landlines and calls made over apps like WhatsApp will remain absolutely free.
For this new change the JIO customers who want to make calls on other Telecomm companies like idea, VODAFONE and AIRTEL will have to buy the additional top up vouchers of Rs. 10, Rs. 20 and Rs. 100 for the additional IUC minutes.
This move is regarded to have the cascading effect in pushing up tariffs indirectly where the competitors will increase the hiking voice rate (jio recharge plan 2019) which will eventually lead to end of era of free voice tariffs.
IUC is the charge paid to the telco on whose network a call terminates. And in current scenario the JIO is a net payer of IUC while AIRTEL and Vodafone are net revenue gainers.
