The Original Chocolate boy Rishi Kapoor is no more!

With the death of veteran actor Rishi Kapoor, another shocking news came from Indian Cinema. The legendary actor died at the age of 67 after fighting the battle for two long years with cancer. The actor died on 30 April 2020 the day after his D-Day co-star Irfan Khan died.

The Indian cinema lost another gem. The man who used to charm millions with his smile and looks has left the world.

WHAT WE KNOW SO FAR: REASON OF DEATH 

The main reason behind his death is cancer. In 2018, he was detected with bone marrow cancer and went to New York for treatment. After one year he returned back to India in September 2019 but was rarely seen in public. After he returned to India, he was first hospitalised in Delhi where he was present in a family function. He again was hospitalised when he came back to Mumbai due to viral fever but was discharged soon. He was admitted to the hospital again on this 29, April 2020 morning due to cancer and breathing problem. The reason for his death is considered to be cancer relapse.

The actor was in the mode of denial whenever he was asked about his health conditions. He was always positive regarding his health saying it is normal fever. However,  his health was a concern for his family and friends.

EARLY LIFE AND WIFE 

Bollywood’s original chocolate boy was born in a Punjabi- family. He was the second son of actor-director Raj Kapoor. The actor belonged to the family of superstars like Raj Kapoor, Shashi Kapoor, Shammi Kapoor. Once, he dated Yasmin when he was a teen and as an adult fell in love with Neetu Singh. The legend got married in the 1980s and the couple has two children Ranbir and Ridhima Kapoor Sahani.

ACTING CAREER 

Rishi Kapoor made his Bollywood debut as a kid when he was seen walking along with the other two kinds in the song ‘ Pyar Hua. iqrar Hua’. Chintu Ji did his second role in the movie ‘Mera Namm Joker’ in which he played the childhood role of his dad.

He did his first debut as a lead role in Bobby, which was a super hit. Laila Majnu, Rafoo Chakkar, Sargam, Karz, Prem Rog, Nagina, Honeymoon, Banjaran, Heena and Bol Radha Bol are some of his hit films. He also acted in two British movies ‘Don’t Stop Dreaming’ and ‘Sambar Salsa’.

Khel Khel Mein, Kabhie Kabhie, Amar Akbar Anthony, Pati Patni Aur Woh, Duniya Meri Jeb Mein are some of his famous multi starer films. He did around 92 romantic movies and her female fans were crazy for him.

REACTIONS 

PM Narendra Modi tweeted that Rishi Kapoor was the powerhouse of the Indian Film Industry.

Amitabh Bachchan tweeted the news saying he was devastated. “He’s GONE! Rishi Kapoor was gone. Just passed away. I am destroyed !”

“This is a terrible week for Indian cinema, with the passing of another legend, actor Rishi Kapoor. A wonderful actor, with a huge fan following across generations, he will be greatly missed. My condolences to his family, friends & fans all over the world, at this time of grief.” tweeted Congress leader Rahul Gandhi.

The death of first Irfan Khan and then, Rishi Kapoor has shocked the entire industry. The week has been terrible as we lost of our two talented backbones of the Indian Film industry. We hope their souls rest in peace and condolence to their family and friends. Rishi Kapoor’s name has been registered in the history of Indian Cinema and will be remembered in our memories for his contribution to  Indian Cinema.
