And one such project is Starlink. Elon Musk aims to provide Internet access to millions of people worldwide through StarLink. But there is a special thing related to the Starlink Project. In this project, you will not get the internet through the cell towers, but the internet will be provided through satellite.
Yes, many of you may not have heard of this, but this is Elon Musk’s dream project. Through this project, he wants to provide internet facilities to crores of people all over the world through satellites.
Objective of Starlink SpaceX:-
Elon Musk had told everyone through his Twitter account in 2015 that he was going to work on a project through which he would be able to provide internet to people all over the world with the help of satellite. It is not that no other company thought of this thing before Elon Musk. But we all know that this is a project that will cost billions of rupees. And any company will think a thousand times before spending so much money.
But as we all know Elon Musk’s thinking is different. He always thinks differently. Elon Musk also found it easier to complete the project because he has his company SpaceX. Elon Musk’s dream is to be able to provide satellite Internet support to people all over the world. But the special thing about this project is that it will require at least 40,000 to 50,000 satellites which will move in space around the earth.
No other company thinks about completing this project not because they don’t have the money but they do not have the capability to send 40,000 to 50,000 in satellite space. And that’s where Elon Musk gets benefitted. Elon Musk, with the help of his company SpaceX, can send massive amounts of a satellite into space. And then he can provide internet facilities to millions of people around the world through satellites.
Starlink SpaceX project will get complete by 2030:-
By the year 2019, Elon Musk’s company SpaceX had sent only 62 satellites to space through which they could provide internet facility to the people. But in the same year, Elon Musk said that his company SpaceX is going to increase their work capacity very fast. He said that in the coming years, he will increase the number of satellites in space from 62 to 12,000.
And he said after that it would not take much time to reach 12,000 to 42,000. Indeed, Elon Musk’s main objective was to bring 42,000 satellites into space. When Elan Musk talked about starting this Starlink SpaceX project, he had selected 42,000 satellites for it. Till date, no company has launched such a large number of satellites. So it can be said that this project will change the state of the earth itself.
Cost of the Starlink project:-
Ever since Elon Musk spoke of starting this project, many people around the world have started speculating about the money that would be spent on this project. Some believe that the project will cost at least $ 60 billion. 60 billion dollars is a huge amount.
When Elon Musk was asked if he was really going to spend his $ 60 billion behind the project. His answer was quite different. Elon Musk flatly denied that the project would cost $ 60 billion. He said that we have so many good engineers and there is so much new technology with us that we will try to finish this project in just $ 10 billion to $ 20 billion.
Now let’s talk about earning from this project. Many people have estimated it in their own way. Some people said that if SpaceX launches 7,000 to 8,000 satellites by 2025, they can generate at least $ 5 billion in revenue. But Elon Musk denied it. He said that 5 billion dollars is a very small amount. He added that by 2025 if he achieves his target, he will be able to generate at least 30 billion dollars of revenue through the Starlink SpaceX project.
India and Starlink SpaceX:-
As far as the matter of how the Star Link project can be successful in India, many people think that this project will not be successful in India. People are saying this because people believe that the internet that Elon Musk will sell will be priced according to the US dollar. And in the US, the Internet is a little more expensive than in India.
Internet consumption is very high in our country and at the moment the internet is also very cheap in our country. So there is a small possibility that people will use the internet provided by Elon Musk through satellites. But Elon Musk is also a visionary man. If he has thought that he is spending so much money on this project. Then he must also have thought about how he will be able to provide internet facilities to different countries of the world.
Does this project a threat to space:-
The biggest question related to the Starlink SpaceX project is whether this project will damage space. Because through this, such a large number of satellites will reach space which can gather in the form of debris and cause a lot of problems. Currently, there are about 5000 satellites in space. And Elon Musk says that by the year 2025, he will send 12,000 satellites and into space. So can it harm our space?
When SpaceX was asked this question, they categorically denied it. They said that the satellites we are sending are going in the lower orbit of the earth. These satellites will be present in the range of 400–500 km from the earth. SpaceX also said that when the work of these satellites is over, they will hit these satellites and destroy them. So this project does not pose a threat to space in any way. They say that this is a great project and it will definitely change the earth’s fortune. Elon Musk is a unique personality and everyone is quite sure that his project Starlink SpaceX will be one of the best in the world till now.
